Jocelyn Schmidt

With a lifelong passion for dance that began in early childhood, Jocelyn first found her artistic foundation in ballet before expanding into a wide range of styles as a teenager, ultimately leading to a professional performing career in London’s West End and on Broadway. Along the way, she developed her skills as a singer and actress, working with some of the industry’s most respected artists. Her extensive training includes study with renowned teachers across the U.S. and the U.K., and her performance credits span major productions such as Cats, Les Misérables, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, among others, including original casts and recordings. Transitioning naturally into education and leadership, she has built a dynamic career as a teacher, coach, choreographer, and director, working with organizations such as San Pedro City Ballet, Stillpoint, and Southern Oregon Dance Center, and contributing original choreography and direction to numerous theatrical and dance productions. In addition to her artistic work, she is deeply committed to arts advocacy and community engagement, having served as a board member for WCST and currently as President of the Board for the Rogue Valley Performing Arts Alliance, where she continues to champion opportunities for emerging artists.
