The Nutcracker
Since 1994, San Pedro City Ballet has produced The Nutcracker for the South Bay communities of Los Angeles. Held at the historic Warner Grand Theater in San Pedro, The Nutcracker is a classic holiday story, and is a fairy tale ballet in two acts centered on a family’s Christmas Eve gathering. The show features dance, magic, gorgeous sets and costumes, and is fun for the whole family.
Performed every December, over 5,000 individuals attend the three day performances which always delight audiences. With a cast 300 children and youth, who are 75% low-income, 40% are boys and 60% are girls with 50% are Hispanic, 30% Caucasian, 10% African American, 10% Asian American and other. Five instructors and countless volunteers are dedicated to organizing the annual production.
As part of its community outreach, SPCB donates hundreds of tickets to the The Nutcracker to local school groups, military families, and non-profit organizations.
